KOZHIKODE: To counter the LDF candidate, moves are being made to field a rebel candidate. Currently, it has been decided to field CPM area committee member as rebel candidate. A protest march has been organised in the town against giving the Kuttiyadi assembly seat to Kerala Congress. The rebel candidate will be officially announced after this protest march.

The party workers have been demanding that CPM should take up the seat, and the popular leader K P Kunjahammed Kutty should be fielded as the LDF candidate. Demanding this, the party workers have conducted a protest march on Tuesday.

Kozhikode district secretary P Mohanan and Elamaram Kareem MP have agreed that it was CPM workers who participated in the protests programmes. They have said that the protests were organised to express their dissent on leaving the party’s seat for allies and they expressed hope that the workers could be convinced about the current political situation.
