KOCHI: The NCP has welcomed senior leader P C Chacko who left the congress party. State chief T P Peethambaran Master said that if Chacko joins the NCP, he will be given a post he deserves.

Chacko was a senior leader in the Congress. He had previously worked with Sharad Pawar. He is also a close friend of Pawar. His entry to the NCP will benefit the party. Peethambaran Master said that as a senior leader he will be given the post he deserves in the leadership.

Meantime, Chacko said that he has not thought about his future plans. Chacko unexpectedly announced his resignation from the party and said there is no Congress party in Kerala as such. Groupism is being practiced by top leaders of the congress, he said in the press meet convened.
