KOCHI: Keralakaumudi chief photographer N R Sudharmadas has bagged this year’s C K Jayakrishnan award instituted in memory of Mathrubhimi chief photographer C K Jayakrishnan. The award includes Rs 10,001, a certificate and a momento. His award-winning photo was the helplessness of a family who after buying a packet of rice, under the lockdown induced food kit programme of the government, lost it on the public road after the handle of the packet got detached. The second and third prizes were bagged by Mangalam Idukki bureau photographer Angel M Baby and Times of India chief photographer T K Deepaprasad. The wards will be distributed in the C K Jaykrishnan memorial ceremony which will be held on March 13.

Sudharmadas has won several awards including Victor George Award by the Kerala Journalists Union, N.V. Prabhu Memorial Media Award, National Child Development Council Media Award, State Environment Award, Uthradam Thirunal Marthanda Varma Media Award, Alappuzha Beach Fest Tourism Photography Award (2011,2012), Editor's Memorial Media Award 2015, the State School Arts Festival Media Award, Kudumbasree State Photography Award (2018,2019), Photo Wide News Photography Award and Gandhi Bhavan News Photography Award.
