KOCHI: Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan will not appear before customs on Friday in connection with the dollar smuggling case. He told customs that he cannot reach due to official commitments and would appear in the first week of April.

In an affidavit filed in the High Court last week, Customs had said that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, the Speaker and three other cabinet ministers were involved in the dollar smuggling case. This was followed by a notice to the speaker. The notice was to appear at the customs headquarters on the 12th.
