KOZHIKODE: Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) leader K K Rema, wife of slain party founder T P Chandrasekharan, will not contest the upcoming assembly elections from Vatakara constituency. It is heard that N Venu will contest as the party's candidate here. There was pressure from the UDF to field Rema but the RMP has decided to field Venu.
The congress had so far not thought about the candidate in Vatakara. After the talks held in Delhi, the congress leaders contacted RMP leaders via phone. The League had informed RMP leaders that uncertainty in giving seats to them has changed. With this, it is almost sure that RMP will contest in Vatakara with the support of the UDF.
