KOCHI: Sandeep Nair, accused in the gold smuggling case, has sent a letter against the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The letter was sent to Ernakulam district judge. The letter has stated that the ED had forced him to mention the name of the chief minister. He also revealed that the ED forced him to say the names of ministers and the son of a top leader.

They promised to help him get bail if their names were mentioned. If not, threatened to be in jail the whole life. His letter said ED official Radhakrishnan budged pressure on him.

The letter also asserted that the ED is trying to mislead the probe. Those who invested money in the gold smuggling were not investigated. They are not even in the list of the accused and still forced to mention their names. The ED leaked false news to the media. Did not allow to sleep as statement was not given against the chief minister. The letter stated that his life is under threat from ED officials.

The jail authorities mailed the letter to the court and Sandeep's lawyer. Meantime, the ED suspects a conspiracy behind the accused’s letter. Sandeep did not say such complaints in court while he was in custody. He had expressed his interest in continuing in custody. The ED has started an investigation on the statement of the police and the accused against them. The ED suspects a conspiracy between officials and politicians against Sandeep's move.
