NEW DELHI: A team of the Jacobite church will meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi today ahead of taking a political stand in the assembly elections. The team includes Metropolitan Trustee Joseph Mar Gregorios Joseph and three others. The official explanation is that the talks are part of efforts to resolve church disputes.

Both are considering to field consensus candidates in five constituencies. The Jacobite Church is looking into the possibility of getting assurances from the centre on church dispute issues. The synod had the other day expressed happiness on Prime Minister's readiness to hear their issues. The meeting ahead of the assembly elections is of great political significance.
