KOZHIKODE: The leadership of the Muslim League Kozhikode South mandalam committee has reacted against the party's decision to field woman candidate Noorbina Rasheed in the constituency. Opposing the decision to field Noorbina Rasheed in Kozhikode South, the leaders of the mandalam committee have decided to meet tomorrow to discuss their course of action in this regard.

It has been 25 years since a woman was named candidate by the Muslim League. Khamarunnisa Anwar was the only woman whose name had appeared in the Muslim League's list of candidates. Khamarunnisa, who contested in the Kozhikode second constituency in the 1996 assembly elections, lost to Left candidate Elamaram Kareem.
