KASARAGOD: It is indicated that INL state secretary MA Latheef will contest from Kasaragod assembly constituency as LDF candidate. The official announcement will take place tomorrow. The INL had decided to announce the candidate for the Kasaragod seat after finding out about the UDF candidate here.

INL was given Vallikunnu in Malappuram district, Kozhikode South in Kozhikode district and Kasaragod constituencies, which they contested last time as well. In Vallikunnu, party state president AP Abdul Wahab will contest while Ahmed Devar Kovil will contest in Kozhikode South. Candidates for these seats had been announced earlier.

NA Nellikunnu, a Muslim League candidate, is contesting for the UDF in the Kasaragod constituency. Nellikunnu had won the league's seat in 2011 and 2016 from here. Kasaragod has been won by the Muslim League in succession since 1977.
