THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Suspense over the Congress candidate in Nemom continues. The talks of Congress central leadership with KPCC leaders over the selection of candidates in 10 constituencies including Nemom, will continue in Delhi today also.
KPCC chief Mullapally Ramachandran will meet AICC general secretary Tariq Anwar on Saturday. Oommen Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala will take part in the discussions online. Leaders are expected to arrive at a consensus over the selection of candidates in the remaining 10 seats.
Sources indicate that Ramesh Chennithala and Oommen Chandy will contest only from their sitting seats. Haripad and Puthupally have been excluded from the list of 10 undecided seats. Former chief minister Oommen Chandy has also rejected reports that he is going to contest in Nemom. When presspersons asked if he is ready to contest in Nemom, he replied that he has contested from Puthupally for the last 50 years.
Vattiyoorkavu, Nemam, Varkala, Nedumangad, Tripunithura, Irikkur, Kalpetta, Nilambur, Pattambi, Peerumedu are the seats where the party is yet to announce candidates.
