THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As Congress is mulling to field a strong candidate in Nemom, BJP is also planning to make last-minute changes in its candidates’ list. The latest information received from the party sources indicates that along with Kummanam Rajasekharan, Suresh Gopi is also being actively considered by the party to field in the Nemom constituency. Suresh Gopi is also being considered by the party in other A-plus constituencies like Thiruvananthapuram, Vatiyoorkavu and Thrissur.

The party is likely to field former DGP Jacob Thomas from the Iringalakkudy constituency where R Bindu, wife of CPM state secretary A Vijayaraghavan is contesting. Shobha Surendran might be fielded from Chattanoor. However, Shobha Surendran who took the stand that she is not interested to contest has also added that if the party wants then she will contest from Kazhakootam.

K Surendran is currently being considered from Konni and Manjeshwaram. C K Padmanabhan might enter into the poll fray from Dharmadom—the chief minister’s constituency. In Kottarakara, film actor Vinu Mohan’s name is also being considered by the saffron party. It is almost confirmed that Sandeep Warrier will contest from Trittala.

BJP’s central leadership has asked the state leaders to field strong candidates in those constituencies, where the party have high hopes. The changes are made on the directions of party president J P Nadda and Union home minister Amit Shah
