KAZHAKOOTTAM: Congress leader and former Kazhakoottam MLA M A Vaheed said BJP agents approached him offering crores to switch to their party. Vaheed said the agents assured to field him as a BJP candidate and offered him a seat in any constituency of the state.

The BJP leaders are not directly mollifying the Congress leaders. They have entrusted agents and the BJP is targeting key leaders. Vaheed had informed the BJP that he is not joining the party.

The BJP is mainly targeting disgruntled leaders. Vaheed said that he has stood against the party only once and that was in 2001. I still regret that and don’t want to be in such a situation again, he said.

Meanwhile, BJP leader B Gopalakrishnan denied the allegation. Such allegations are concocted by the congress, he said. They deliberately invented the stories, he said.

Many Congress leaders in the state are mentally preparing to join the BJP. Gopalakrishnan alleged that Vaheed fabricated such a story because former Congress leader Vijayan Thomas joined the BJP.
