KANNUR: KPCC working president K Sudhakaran has said that the party has violated the centre’s guidelines on selecting candidates for the assembly polls and it is the reason for current problems faced by the party. Sudhakaran also added that if the problems are not resolved then, it will definitely affect the wining prospects of Congress candidates.
The state leadership have full responsibility for the issues concerned with candidates selection. The leaders standing to protect their group interests was witnessed during the talks. Nobody is trying to come out of the groups. Priority should be given to winning possibility. He also complained that despite being the working president of the party, senior leaders have not consulted him for the selection of candidates in the Kannur district.
“While choosing the candidates, the right persons should be selected without considering group affiliations. When the leaders themselves turned up against it, it led to severe issues rising up in the party. I expect that all issues will be resolved when the final list of candidates will be out by evening. There are several shortcomings, but the party have the ability to resolve them and move forward,” he added.
