THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: General ticket counters will be opened today at railway stations in all districts except Thiruvananthapuram and Kasaragod. With the commencement of MEMU and regular train services, general ticket sales will also start at stations in Thiruvananthapuram. Kollam - Alappuzha, Alappuzha - Ernakulam, Ernakulam - Shornur and Shornur - Kannur MEMU services are functioning. Therefore, general ticket sales will start at stations in Kollam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Kannur districts. With the inclusion of general coaches in the Guruvayur-Punalur Express, general ticket sales will also start at stations in Kottayam. Season tickets are also available at these stations.

General and season tickets have been suspended since March 24 last year due to the lockdown.

At present, general and season tickets are available only for MEMU trains and Guruvayur-Punalur Express. Revalidation will be allowed for season tickets that were valid after March 24, 2020. Old season tickets must be produced at the counter to get revalidation. Advance reservation is mandatory on all trains except the above trains.
