KOCHI: The Kerala government on Sunday received legal advice to register a case against the Enforcement Directorate (ED) based on the statement that ED officials had pressurised the accused in the gold smuggling case to give a statement against the Chief Minister.
As per the legal advice provided by the Director-General of Prosecution, a case can be registered on the basis of Swapna Suresh's leaked audio clip and Sandeep Nair's letter to the district judge. The Director-General of Prosecution had also examined the statement that the ED officials had pressurised the accused to give fake testimonials against the CM.
Adv R Sunil Kumar handed over a letter to the state police chief asking him to register an FIR against the ED officials based on Sandeep Nair's revelations. The police are entitled to file an FIR for pressurising the accused to give fake testimonials.
