ALAPPUZHA: 26-year-old Aritha, daughter of Thulasidharan and Anandavalli of Ajesh Nivas in Kayamkulam, was preparing to get married when Congress announced her as candidate in Kayamkulam for the Assembly polls.

According to astrology, this year is the time for her to get married. Many proposals came via matrimonials and acquaintances. But she didn't the chance to meet anyone so far. The Congress candidate list came amid this.

Aritha has decided to put the preparations on hold. Aritha is of the belief that her good time will also reflect in the election results as well.

Much has been said about Kayamkulam's own Aritha by KPCC President Mullappally Ramachandran while announcing the list of Congress candidates.

She is the youngest UDF candidate in the state. When the KPCC president started talking a lot about Aritha, born in a poor family, who became a dairy farmer at a young age by helping her father Thulasidharan (Babu), Kayamkulam gained instant attention. She earned a living by milking cows and delivering milk to societies. She became a district panchayat member at the age of 21 and is a state secretary of Youth Congress.

Aritha wants to see all her gains as the achievements of her father, who is a Congress worker. Aritha hopes that working at her own place would be beneficial. Aritha is hopeful that someone who supports and understands her would come as a groom this year itself. She has done her schooling at Govt Girls High School and secured B Com degree from Kerala University.
