THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The candidates for the six seats postponed due to dispute in the Congress will be announced today. P C Vishnunath will be fielded in Vattiyoorkavu, Riyaz Mukkoli in Thavanoor and Aryadan Shoukath in Pattambi. The Congress is planning to field T Siddique, who left the constituency for Rahul Gandhi, in Kalpetta. It is hinted that V V Prakash will be contesting from Nilambur and Balan Master in Kundara.

The leadership has decided not to delay the announcement of the candidate as there are only four days left for filing the nomination papers and protests continue. So, Oommen Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala met last night. They spoke to Malappuram DCC President V V Prakash and Aryadan Shoukath, who voiced complaints. An agreement was reached on the seats after a telephone conversation with KPCC chief Mullappally Ramachandran who is in Delhi.

K P Anil Kumar was initially fixed in Vattiyoorkavu but later P C Vishnunath was brought here due to protests against the former. Social activist Firoz Kunnumparambil will not get a seat. Instead youth congress vice-president Riyaz Mukkoi will be fielded in Thavanoor. Ramesh Chennithala, who is reaching Wayanad today will hold talks with the protestors and try to the resolve the issue regarding Siddique.
