KOTTAYAM: Lathika Subash is likely to contest in Ettumanoor as an independent candidate. She said a final decision in that regard will be taken after the discussions in Ettumanoor. She added that earlier also independent candidates have won from Ettumanoor.

Lathika Subash is expected to resign from the primary membership of the Congress. She also added that among the women candidates seats should be given to those who have worked in the party and bringing women from outside the party, could prove counterproductive. She alleged that KPCC chief had not picked up the phone when she called him.

Lathika Subash has resigned from the president post of Mahila Congress in protest against the low representation of women in candidates list and over denying the much awaited Vypin seat to her. She also shaved off her head as a mark of protest in front of the Indira Bhavan.
