KANNUR: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has submitted nomination papers in the Dharmadom constituency. The nomination papers were submitted before the presiding officer. Pinarayi has given two sets of nomination papers. He was nominated by P Balan, representative of the constituency, and P N Chandran, CPI national council member. Vijayan was also accompanied by M V Jayarajan, CPM’s Kannur district secretary.

“Left front is contesting this time on the confidence derived from the honest support of people in the state,” Pinarayi wrote on Facebook after submitting the nomination papers. We will go forward with the people-centric development projects implemented in the last five years. The left front will work for the prosperous future of the state with the support of the people. We will try our best to fulfill the given assurances.
Just before submitting the nomination papers, minister Kadakampally Surendran visited him at the collectorate with greetings of victory. Pinarayi was actively going on with campaign activities in the constituency for the last one week. The chief minister who will campaign across the state will only visit his own constituency just a day before the assembly polls.
C K Padmanabhan is the NDA candidate from Dahrmadom. Congress candidate of the constituency is yet to be decided. Party sources say that somebody from the martyr’s family will be fielded as Congress candidate in the constituency.
