NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has also said that the two leaves symbol belongs to Jose K Mani. SC allocated the two leaves symbol to Jose K Mani, rejecting the review plea filed by the Joseph faction against the high court verdict which ratified the poll panel’s decision to allocate the two leaves symbol to Jose K Mani. The single bench of the high court ratified the decision of the poll panel. Even though Joseph faction approached HC’s division bench, their plea was rejected. Following this, P J Joseph approached Supreme Court and shattering his last hope, the apex court also said that his demand cannot be justified.

The plea in the Supreme Court was submitted by P C Kuriakose, the Joseph faction leader. The demand of the Joseph faction was to issue a stay on the high court’s verdict. However, as the court has rejected their plea, it is almost confirmed that P J Joseph will contest under the ‘Chenda,’ symbol.

Following the split in Kerala Congress, the poll panel has allocated the two leaves symbol to Jose K Mani who joined LDF. Joseph faction in UDF approached the court against this. As of now, 13 seats were given to the Jose faction in LDF whereas 10 were given to the Joseph faction by UDF.
