THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP leader Shobha Surendran said that she has a history of doubling votes wherever she had contested. In Kazhakootam BJP will win. “A strong leader who coordinates all activities of the party in the country has asked me to contest from Kazhakootam. Therefore I will wholeheartedly accept that demand and I have mentally prepared to contest in the polls,” Shobha Surendran said.

“I have decided to contest in the polls on the directions of the national leadership. This is not the old BJP, except Kazhakootam, candidates in two other undecided seats have been chosen. The names will be declared soon. There is no dearth of candidates in BJP and NDA,” he added.

Last time, it was union minister V Muraleedharan who contested for the party in Kazhakootam. This time, as he has taken up BJP’s campaign responsibility, he won’t enter into the poll fray. Thus, Shobha was picked for candidature in Kazhakootam. Other than Kazhakootam, candidates in Kollam and Karunagapally seats are yet to be declared. Sources say the candidates to these constituencies will be declared today.
