THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: K Muraleedharan should contest after confirming whether his fight is for the assembly or the Lok Sabha, said CPM politburo member Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. If the congress candidate of Nemom is confident of winning the seat, he should have contested the polls after resigning his MP post, the leader said while talking at the party election meet in the capital city.

Kodiyeri said that if Murali keeps one foot in New Delhi and the other in Thiruvananthapuram, will his feet be firm. He should first confirm whether he is contesting the assembly polls or the Lok Sabha. If he is a strong leader, let him contest after resigning his MP post, opined Kodiyeri. If he is so confident of winning the polls, he should have contested after resigning his post.

Usually the fight in Kerala is between the UDF and the LDF. However, in Nemom, the fight is between the LDF and the BJP. The LDF candidate in Nemom is thinner than others but works among the people with a political ideology.

Kodiyeri opined that there is a Congress-League-BJP (Co-Le-B) alliance in Kundamangalam and the UDF has an open connection with Jamaat-e-Islami. This is political bankruptcy. The LDF has good confidence. The Front is working with full confidence in constituencies including Nemom, he said.

Kodiyeri harshly criticised the congress on the issue related to Lathika Subhash. There was no need of tonsuring her head. The congress leaders are hard-hearted people. Even people like K Sudhakaran have lost faith in the congress.

Kodiyeri also criticised K Surendran for contesting in two constituencies. He has no chances of victory in two places. The BJP may have decided only a male Surendran is enough and a female Surendran is not needed, he said.
