KANNUR: K Sudhakaran MP said that he will not be a candidate in Dharmadom where Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is contesting. Nobody has asked me to contest from there and I also haven’t asked anyone. There is no such discussions now, he said.
Two days after the Congress released its list of 86 candidates for the upcoming elections Sudhakaran expressed his displeasure over the list, saying that he has lost both hope and confidence.
Meantime, Sudhakaran’s response when asked whether he would take up the challenge for the Congress in the present situation, 'We have a lot of people here now. So, I don’t have to dress up for that. I am an MP now. A suitable candidate will be fielded in Dharmadom,’ he said.
Sudhakaran reiterated that he was not satisfied with the list. There are flaws in the list. I don’t have any fear or hesitation to openly say that. I will openly say that and have said it earlier. Even if there are any errors, one has to go forward with the list. The style of the party is to find solutions to the problems and grievances by discussing with the leaders.
Sudhakaran said there is hope for success and the reason for it is the present political situation. He said the list of candidates is only a second thing. When asked whether A Group would be given the post of DCC president, he said there was no discussions on it.
Hope to resolve the Irikkur seat issue amicably. I am an optimist always. There should be an end to the issues and it should be resolved, he added.
