NEW DELHI: Senior Congress leader P.C. Chacko, who quit the party last week, has joined the NCP. CPM National General Secretary Sitaram Yechury welcomed him to the LDF. The announcement was made at a joint press conference.

"The NCP has been a part of the LDF in Kerala for the last 40 years. I was a minister in the Nayanar cabinet. This relationship dates back to 1980.
That relationship with the LDF is my political asset. Now, I have returned to the LDF as part of the NCP. Happy to be a part of the NCP and the LDF," Chacko said.
