THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sobha Surendran, BJP state vice-president, said that she has been informed about her candidature in Kazhakoottam by the party's central leadership. The BJP leader also said that she would start campaigning in the constituency from Thursday. With Sobha Surendran confirming that she will be contesting from the Kazhakoottam constituency in the assembly elections, the uncertainty regarding the BJP candidate in the constituency has finally come to an end.

With the intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it became clear that Sobha would get the BJP's Kazhakoottam seat. It is learnt that the Prime Minister directed the party central leadership to field Sobha in Kazhakoottam itself. However, the BJP is yet to make an official announcement regarding this.
