KOCHI: The NIA team has obtained a transit warrant to produce two accused arrested from Kerala in the Patiala House court in Delhi within five days in a case of recruitment of youths to the terror outfit ISIS. The accused were produced before a special NIA court in Ernakulam yesterday.

They will be flown from Kochi to Delhi. Oachira native Dr Rahis Rashid (30) and Kannur native Mushab Anuwar (19) were arrested by the National Investigation Agency yesterday. The NIA had earlier arrested Mohammad Amin, also known as Abu Yahya, an ISIS-linked Malayalee from Delhi. Rahis and Mushab, the dentists, were arrested on the basis of a statement given by Abu Yahya,
who returned from Bahrain in March last year.

In addition to these, there are indications that the agency has identified seven other persons working as part of the ISIS unit in Kerala. The investigation in Kerala was coordinated under the leadership of NIA Superintendent Uma Behra.

Yahya and his group have adopted the method of interacting with young people through secret societies on social media and attracting them to ISIS ideologies. The NIA had also found out that they had planned to kill some people in Kerala and Karnataka.
