KOZHIKODE: Senior BJP leader O Rajagopal reminded that this is not the way the BJP should function. As the party in power at the centre, the style of functioning of the party must change. The BJP is not just a party to blame and demand, it is a party that has to meet the needs of the people, reminded Rajagopal.

Rajagopal also said the activists should have a sense of responsibility. Surendran was given two seats in gratitude of his role played in the Sabarimala issue. We are getting a good support of the devotees. There is no need for anyone’s company, he said.

‘I don’t know anything about any companionship. There is no leadership issue in the party. I know Balashankar very well. We are friends. We were together in Delhi for a long time. I know him before that. The BJP don’t have any ties either with the Congress or with the communist. There was a time when we voted in such a way that we would not win and somehow the Communists should be defeated. The party is now on its own feet,’ he said.
