NEW DELHI: The external affairs ministry has said that it has given the details of the American firm EMCC to the state government. The ministry has informed Parliament that it has given the details three times to the state government. The centre also added that the state government has sought the help of the external affairs ministry to know more about the American firm.
The ministry has contacted the Indian consulate in New York to gather all relevant information about the company. The received information was transferred to the state government three times. The information was transferred to the state government in the documentary format in three stages on 2019 October 1, October 25 and November 6.
Even though all efforts were made to gather as much information as possible, the company didn’t respond to certain queries of the consulate. Still, the consulate officials were not able to confirm the address of the American firm. In the document transferred by the external affairs ministry to the state government, it has been said that the firm functions under a virtual address in a rented building. Earlier minister of state for external affairs, V Muraleedharan also said that the central government has given all necessary details of the company to the state government.
