THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Senior BJP leader and MLA O Rajagopal has revealed that BJP, Congress and League votes have been traded in Kerala. Speaking to a leading news channel, he openly said that there was a Co-Le-B alliance with the permission of the leadership and that it was an achievement for the BJP.
The alliance was mostly in North Kerala. The understanding was at the local level. This led to an increase in BJP votes in Manjeshwar and Ottapalam. Adjustment will be required in practical politics. Only the leadership need to know about this and there was no need to tell the people, he said.
At the same time, Rajagopal said that Balashankar's allegation that the BJP had done vote trading votes with the LDF is absurd. He denied allegations that there was a deal between the CPM and the BJP and said that Balashankar was repeating after someone.
In former BJP mouthpiece Janmabhoomi journalist K Kunhikannan's book about BJP leader KG Marar, Co-Le-B alliance was cited as being true. Such references are found in the chapter on 'Wasted Experiment' in Marar's biography.
