THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The NSS has demanded that the government and the Chief Minister clarify their stand on the Sabarimala issue. Sitaram Yechury, the party's national general secretary, has said that it is up to the CPM state unit to answer this question. The state government, and especially the Chief Minister, has a moral responsibility to make clear what their position is in this situation. Believers also have the right to know, the NSS said in a statement.
Sitaram Yechury had told the media that he did not know why Kadakampally Surendran had apologized for the incidents related to the entry of Sabarimala woman. He opined that the party had taken the right stand on the Sabarimala issue and that the party's policy was equality as stated in the Constitution. Following this, the NSS has come out again demanding that the government and the Chief Minister clarify their position on the Sabarimala issue.
