THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: UDF’s poll manifesto with big promises to grab power, is finally out. The poll manifesto promises to raise the social welfare pension to Rs 3,000, the poor will be given Rs 6,000 as pension, Five kilograms of rice to all-white ration cardholders and housing to serving five lakh people in the state, etc are some of the major poll promises in the manifesto.
Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has said that it is the people’s manifesto and once the UDF government comes to power all the promises specified in the manifesto will be implemented. The manifesto has been prepared after eminent politicians like Shashi Tharoor collecting people’s opinions. Yesterday, LDF had also issued its poll manifesto.
Highlights of the manifesto are as follows:
Welfare pension will be increased to Rs 3000.
Welfare pension revision commission in the model of pay commission.
Nyay scheme for providing monthly aid of Rs 6000 to underprivileged families, annual aid of Rs 72,000.
Monthly aid of Rs 2000 to housewives who belong who belong to 40-60 age group and are not beneficiaries of Nyay scheme.
Fuel subsidy to autorickshaw, taxi and fishing boats from state tax.
100 unit free electricity to all customers.
Free food kit with more items to more people. House for 5 lakh people
Karunya Arogya Suraksha Padhathi (KASP) will be resumed.

A department will be formed to maintain peace and brotherhood.
Minimum Support Price of Rs 250 for rubber and Rs 30 for paddy.
