KANNUR: The nomination papers of BJP candidate from Talassery, N Haridas rejected. Haridas is the district chief of the saffron party in Kannur. In the last assembly polls, the party got the most number of votes in the district from Talassery. As the nomination papers of the dummy candidate were rejected earlier, now the party has no candidate in the constituency. In 2016, the party got 22,125 votes. The nomination papers were rejected as they didn’t have form A, which informs the presiding officer that it is the party’s chief who is running for the polls. BJP’s dummy candidate Lateesh’s nomination papers were also rejected citing technical discrepancies. The district leadership of the party has not responded yet over the incident.

Apart from Talassery, NDA candidate’s nomination papers were rejected in Devikulam, Idukki district. The nomination papers of AIADMK candidate R M Dhanalakshmi and dummy candidate Ponchandy were rejected citing that form 26 was not completed.
