MALAPPURAM: Aryadan Shaukath will assume charge as Malappuram DCC president today. Aryadan Shaukath has been given the interim charge as the present DCC president V V Prakash is contesting in Nilambur.

Prakash had informed the leadership that he need to be relinquished. Aryadan Shaukath was initially considered as the candidate in Nilambur but the seat was later given to Prakash. The move by the Congress is also aimed at ending the controversy surrounding it.
