THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has lashed out at the opinion polls conducted by various media outlets. He said that he can’t be destroyed through opinion surveys. “For three media outlets, the same agency conducted the surveys. Even one percent of voters of Kerala has not participated in these surveys,” Chennithala said.

He also asked is it right for the media in Kerala to degrade themselves to mere sycophants of the ruling regime? “In order to whitewash a government lying in the pool of graft allegations, advertisements worth Rs 200 crore were given to the media and as a goodwill gesture, pro-incumbent surveys are being published by media outlets,” the opposition leader alleged.

“UDF has no faith in such surveys. We are rejecting these survey reports. The channel presenter says that LDF will rule Kerala for another five years. Such surveys were conducted ahead of Lok Sabha polls too but these “pre-poll experts,” were not seen once the official results were out,” Chennithala added.

“All media outlets in the state are taking a unilateral stand. Let them celebrate but the people stand with UDF. The opposition doesn’t have the money to publish advertisements. Today we are witnessing incidents of these opinion surveys sabotaging the people’s mandate. We have faith only in the survey of the people,” he said.
