THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Manorama News-VMR opinion poll has predicted a BJP victory in Manjeswaram. Here, BJP state president K Surendran is the NDA candidate.

Manjeswaram was the constituency where the BJP had high hopes during the last assembly elections. At that time, Surendran lost by just 89 votes. PB Abdul Razaq of the Muslim League won with 56,870 votes while Surendran got 56781 votes.

K Sundara, who has a similarity to the BJP leader's name got 467 votes in 2016. Although Sundara was nominated as the BSP candidate this time, he withdrew his nomination for K Surendran and decided to work with the NDA. He was also a Yakshagana artiste and withdrew his petition after deciding that he does not want to be an obstacle to Surendran, who had led a heroic struggle to protect the Sabarimala customs.
