THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With the picture of the candidates becoming more clear, national leaders are gearing up to reach the state to intensify the campaign. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend two rallies- one in Thiruvananthapuram on March 30 and the other in Pathanamthitta on April 2. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Dr Ashwath Narayan and Union Minister Prahlad Joshi are camping here. Smriti Irani is likely to reach Kazhakoottam on the 28th. Amit Shah will arrive in Kannur and Ernakulam districts on April 25 and 3. While actress Vijayashanti will arrive on 25th, Yogi Adityanath will arrive on the 27th. Defence minister Rajnath Singh will reach Kerala on 28th and J.P. Nadda will arrive on the 31st.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will arrive in Kochi at 11 am today and will interact with the students of St. Teresa's College at 11.30 am. He will then attend election meetings in Vipin, Kochi and Thripunithura constituencies. Tomorrow he will go to Kottayam, Puthuppally, Kanjirapally, Pala, Piravom, Kunnathunadu, Muvattupuzha, Perumbavoor and Angamaly constituencies. Priyanka Gandhi, Sachin Pilot, Kapil Sibal, Ghulam Nabi Azad and other Congress chief ministers will also come to Kerala.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is the star campaigner in the Left Front. The CM's campaign starting from Kottayam today will end on the 30th in Thiruvananthapuram. Other campaigners are Sitaram Yechury, Prakash Karat, Vrinda Karat and Subhashini Ali. Karat will arrive on the 25th and Yechury on the 23rd.
