KASARGOD: Senior Congress leader Rajmohan Unnithan has said that party workers are facing the consequences of loving individuals instead of the party. “If the mandalam president of the party belongs to a particular group when the KPCC president tries to remove him for any wrongdoing, then the KPCC chief will have to answer to the group leaders. Every important leader of the party is enjoying this undue privilege. It starts from the Mandalam level and goes beyond DCCs. This practice should come to an end,” he said.
“If the party goes on with the groups, there will be no Congress party in Kerala. The commitment of the workers should be towards the party and not towards individuals,” he said. Unnithan has also criticized K Sudhakaran’s statement that the party’s winning prospects have reduced with the issue of candidates’ lists. He said that when the party is in the arena fighting against the Marxist party, a senior Congress leader like K Sudhakaran should have never issued such a statement.
Unnithan also made it clear that nobody from Congress will join BJP. “There are certain persons who have given their body to Congress and the mind to BJP, such people must go to BJP. Those who stay in Indian National Congress, believing in its ideology, will never leave the party,” he said. He also alleged opportunists, those who strive for power and positions, and those who earned everything by using the party are the ones who are leaving the party.
