PALA: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan came down heavily on Mani C Kappan. The uniqueness of this constituency is that someone who was with the LDF is now facing the LDF after betraying his party and the LDF, the chief minister said. However, the chief minister opined that the people have always given due punishment to opportunists. The chief minister made the remarks while inaugurating the election convention in Pala. The chief minister said Kappan is saying that he would show his power by standing with the Congress.

The chief minister said it was not Kappan’s excellence seen in Pala earlier but was the merit of the LDF. The chief minister said the opportunist should be isolated and should try to bring Jose K Mani to the assembly with a thumping majority.

Meantime, Kappan opined that he is not giving a reply for it. He can say anything. The results on May 2 will tell you who is an opportunist.

Mani C Kappan severed ties with the LDF and the NCP over giving Pala seat to Jose K Mani. After party national leadership sided with the Left Front, Kappan who left NCP formed NCK and joined hands with the UDF. Kappan is contesting from Pala and Sulfikar Mayoori at Elathur. There were protests in the congress against the candidature of Sulfikar.
