WAYANAD: Senior Congress leader K C Rosakutty has left the party. She has informed the media that she is resigning from the preliminary membership of the Congress party. Rosakutty is currently serving as vice president of KPCC.

K C Rosakutty has said that she is resigning due to the party’s stand of ignoring women. She alleged that the party is repeatedly ignoring women. “Under the present circumstances, Congress is unable to build up a secular society and to give leadership in the fight against communal parties in the country. I am deeply anguished over the incident of denying seat to Mahila Congress president Lathika Subash,” she said.

“Bindu Krishna had to burst out in front of the media to get a seat in Kollam district. Congress has never witnessed such gender inequality before. Now, the party is reeling under the impact of group politics. I fear that another group led by high command might occur in Wayanad,” Rosakutty said.

Rosakutty was functioning in the party for the last three decades. She had also become an MLA in 1991 after contesting from the Bathery constituency. She was also a former member of the women’s commission.
