NEW DELHI: The national film awards for the year 2019 have been announced. The Malayalam film industry has got 11 awards. Priyadarshan’s Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham with Mohanlal in the lead role has been adjudged the best film.

The best Malayalam film is Rahul Riji Nair’s Kallanottam. Biryani directed by Sajin Baby has got a special mention. Priyadarshan’s Marakkar has also got an award for special effects and costume designing. Malayalam film Oru Pathiraswapnam Pole has been adjudged the best popular film. The award for the best director goes to Priyadarshan for his film Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham.

Manoj Bajpayee and Dhanush have been adjusted the best actors Kangana Ranaut the best actress. Pallavi Joshi and Vijay Sethupathi are the best supporting actors.

Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer Chhichhore wins national award for best Hindi film.
