THRIKKAKARA: Sanu Mohan (40), the father of the 13-year-girl whose body was found in the river on Monday, is still missing. The body of his daughter Vaiga was found by Monday afternoon.

The initial results of the postmortem revealed that Vaiga's death was caused by drowning. No abnormal injuries were found. The body, which was handed over at 4.30 pm yesterday, was taken to her house in Alappuzha.

Meanwhile, forensic experts conducted an examination in Sanu's flat in Kangarappady after the police found blood stains in the bedroom. The car in which Sanu and his daughter Vaiga were travelling has not been found yet. Police are examining CCTV footage in the areas where they are said to have travelled. Police and firefighters ended the search in the Muttar River.

Police found that Sanu Mohan was heavily in debt and had told the creditors that he would soon repay the money. The three men who arrived at the flat on Sunday were questioned but no significant information was received. Later that evening, Sanu and his wife Remya arrived at his wife's sister's house in Alappuzha with their daughter. Later, he took his daughter out in his car saying that he was going to another relative's home. Sanu's mobile phone had been switched off for the past one week. He was using his wife's phone.
