KOCHI: The high court has not given stay order on ED’s plea to cancel the cases registered by the crime branch on ED officials. The case has been postponed to Tuesday for further hearing. “Until then no subsequent action should be taken on the ED officials,” the high court said. The court has not considered ED’s demand to stay the probe proceedings.

ED has earlier alleged that the case was taken as part of a political and bureaucratic conspiracy. The agency has also called for a CBI probe to carry out an impartial and transparent investigation into the case. The crime branch has registered the case against ED officials on the basis of the testimony of police personnel that ED’s men have compelled Swapna Suresh to give testimony against the chief minister. In the plea, ED also said that the crime branch’s preliminary probe was a farce and they didn’t even record the testimony of ED officials. ED sought the cancellation of cases on its officials in this context.
