KOLLAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan opposes freezing of Rajya Sabha elections. The decision of the Election Commission is an encroachment against democracy and the Constitution. The centre should clarify the motive behind the wrong intervention. The Election Commission should also give an answer in this regard, the chief minister said.
The UDF is not ready to say no to the votes of the communal forces. They have the mindset of stalling the food given to the people of Kerala. The Congress stood with the BJP to prevent the aid given to Kerala during floods time. The opposition is also trying to block the distribution of rice to school children.
Many blame that the opposition have lost their sense of place. Has the opposition leader forgotten that Easter is on April 4? Vishu and Ramadan fasting are coming. How can the opposition think that people should suffer at such times? The kits are not distributed for votes, the chief minister said.
The LDF does not need the help of any communal forces to win the elections. The opposition is trying to surrender the state to the BJP for four votes. The LDF will not comply to any evil laws. The UDF is looking at how to eliminate the LDF's influence in the coastal region. The public support for the LDF is increasing like never before, the chief minister said.
