KOCHI: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala is moving legally in the double vote controversy. He approached the high court demanding steps against the officials supporting dual voters to vote in the assembly elections. He also said that they should not be permitted to vote in the assembly elections. Their votes should also be frozen.

Chennithala said he had written to the election commission five times on the issue but no action was taken and therefore requested the court to intervene in the matter. Chennithala had earlier said the scrutiny committee had found that more than four lakh fraudulent votes were there when examined using the software. The Election Commission found Chennithala's allegations to be true. Following that, steps were taken to find such voters in all the 140 constituencies.
