THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Senior Congress leader AK Antony has lashed out at Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the LDF government. According to Antony, the people of Kerala have been witnessing the arrogance of the Pinarayi Vijayan-led government for the last five years. He also said that even the politburo would find it difficult to control the situation if there is a continuance of LDF rule in the state.
Antony accused Pinarayi Vijayan of attempting to mislead communities. "Pinarayi Vijayan tried to mislead the communities and divide the Hindus. Pinarayi softened his stand ahead of the elections. Now, he is blaming the media for the criticism from NSS. One minister even went on to express regret over the incidents that took place in connection with the Sabarimala women entry issue. All this was done by foreseeing the elections," Antony said.
When quizzed about the UDF's CM candidate, Antony said that the UDF does not intend to project any particular leader as its CM candidate. "KPCC president is the leader of the Congress in Kerala. A collective leadership of the party is facing the elections. I have high hopes in UDF. The party is not ready to project any leader as its CM candidate as it feels that teamwork will be crucial for victory in the elections," he added.
