THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Dr TM Thomas Isaac has sharply criticized the inspection of the Central Income Tax Department at the KIIFB headquarters. The Income Tax Department is showing pure hooliganism. The required documents have been provided. The move is to discredit KIIFB. The Finance Minister also said that such dramas which were announced in advance to the media should be stopped.

During the inspection, officials collected from KIIFB the previously requested details of projects of the past five years. About 15 officers arrived at the KIIFB headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday afternoon. KIIFB handed over the details of the projects carried out by KIIFB over the past five years, the amounts transferred to the contractors, and the tax levied on the money charged from various contractors for the projects. The Income Tax Department had earlier issued a notice to KIIFB asking him to file the documents before the 25th of this month.
