KANNUR: CPM Kannur district secretary MV Jayarajan on Saturday accused AICC spokesperson Shama Mohamed of having double votes. He also released evidence in this regard. According to Jayarajan, Shama's name has been added as number 532 and number 1250 in the voters' list. He said that a comprehensive inquiry should be held into the matter.
Meanwhile, Shama Mohamed has denied the allegations. Accusing CPM of voter-rigging in Kannur district, Shama said that CPM is trying to defame her through such baseless allegations. "I got this voter ID in April 2016. I have voted in the 2016 Assembly elections, the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and the 2020 local body elections. There was no problem until yesterday. The CPM has now come up with such an allegation soon after Ramesh Chennithala brought up the issue of fraudulent votes. They are raising an allegation against me for speaking against Pinarayi Vijayan," Shama said.
