CHENNAI: A Malayali couple found in a weak condition died after they skipped treatment for COVID-19. The two have been identified as K Raveendran (60) of Palakkad Kollengode Kambrath and wife Vandana (52). They were permanent residents of Nizampakkam in Tamil Nadu for many years.

The couple was not seen outside for days and on suspicion their neighbours came in search of them and saw the two in a weak condition in the house. Although they were taken to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital in the ambulance, Raveendran died on the way and Vandana on Friday morning while undergoing treatment.

In an examination conducted, the two were confirmed of the virus. Raveendran was former PRO of a private university in Chennai. Vandana was additional vice principal of a private school in K K Nagar. The couple had no children. Their relatives have reached Chennai. The bodies will be cremated on Sunday after completing the procedures.
