THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The latest pre-poll surveys predict another term for the incumbent LDF government. As per the Asianet-C4 survey, LDF will secure 82 to 91 seats with 42 per cent of total votes. Whereas the pre-poll survey conducted by 24 news says that LDF will secure 76 seats and thus retaining power. UDF will secure 46 seats. The survey also adds that NDA will lose the Nemom seat and actor G Krishnakumar will win from the Thiruvananthapuram assembly seat and LDF will finish as runner up in the constituency.
As per the Asianet C-4 survey, LDF will retain power by securing 76 seats. UDF will get 34 per cent of votes and will secure 46-54 seats. BJP which is heading for a massive comeback will get 18 per cent vote share. The survey also predicts that the saffron party will win three to seven seats. Those who are contesting as independents without joining any front will get three per cent of votes and one seat.
The survey predicts the massive support received from Northern districts will play a crucial role in LDF’s victory. The survey says LDF will bag the lion's share of seats in Palakkad, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Malappuram and Kasargod districts.
About 41 per cent of the participants in the survey support Pinarayi Vijayan for the chief minister’s post. Oommen Chandy is backed by 27 per cent of participants and Ramesh Chennithala’s leadership is recognised by seven per cent. 11 per cent has chosen K K Shylaja as their chief minister whereas the same for BJP president K Surendran is six per cent.
