KOCHI: Public sector oil companies slashed petrol price by 22 paise and diesel price by 24 paise yesterday. In Thiruvananthapuram, petrol was priced at Rs 92.44 per litre and diesel at Rs 86.90 per litre. This is based on lower international crude oil prices.

Oil companies, which have been raising fuel prices for most of December, January and February, did not revise prices from February 27 to March 23 in the wake of the election. On March 24, petrol and diesel prices were reduced by 18 paise each and on March 25 by 21 paise each. After a gap of four days, prices fell again yesterday.
